The predefined target group is men who have sex with men and who have had at least 1 STI in the past year. They are the highest risk group for getting the virus. “We see that since the start of the monkeypox virus outbreak, about 400 people have been infected, mainly men in the age group of 20 to 59 years, who have sex with men. But new infections are added every week. In this way, we can reach a target group that is currently unknown to the HIV reference centers”, says Flemish Minister of Health Hilde Crevits (CD&V).
