Wattpad and Spotify Strike deal for Indonesia, Philippines podcast

The leading web-based Wattpad platform will launch a series of podcasts created by famous Wattpad authors, exclusively on Spotify.

Some of the biggest names in web novels in Indonesia and the Philippines will bring their stories to life through a lineup of podcasts, with 20 titles available to Spotify listeners. Among the authors is Pit Sandi, whose story “My Ice Girl” has garnered nearly 22 million reads on Wattpad, Ma. Christina Lata, author of 321 million reads “The Four Bad Boys and Me” and Ariesa Jane Domingo of “For Hire: A Damn Good Kisser” which has 42.1 million reads.

These podcasts are not audio versions of popular stories but an exploration of different themes from the authors ranging from discussions of the authors’ creative journey to personal reflections on everyday life from the author’s lens and behind-the-scenes commentary on their work. Stories.

For example, behind-the-scenes commentary on web novels from Ventre Canard, author of “Caught in His Arms” (56.2 million reads) and April Avery from “Titan Academy of Special Abilities” (55 million reads), among others, are available.

Shows also include “Dy-dengar” by Indonesian author Diah Ayo Rumsari Abdullah, in which she will share details of her life as a GM, giving her fans a more intimate look at her hopes and dreams for the future; The Filipino author Ma. Cristina Lata “Love and Wander with Tina” who will discuss love and other topics, and share messages from fans on this topic.

The podcast will air on September 17 in the Philippines and on September 30 in Indonesia. Each podcast will contain 24 episodes and broadcast weekly on their Spotify Podcast pages.

As part of the partnership, Wattpad and Spotify will host two live discussion sessions with creators at the Manila International Book Fair on September 17 and the Indonesia International Book Fair on November 12.
