Star Ella Balinska chats with Screen Rant about her character’s substantial development and shares the importance of maintaining the story’s authentic nature.

Screen Rant: It didn’t take long to figure out why the movie was called Run Sweetheart Run. I would love to know how much running you actually had to do for this film.

It looked exhausting. You were giving it your all. There are a lot of amazing things about this character, but what about her stood out to you in particular?

She has an amazing arc. She goes from begging for her life at the beginning to feeling like she can stand up and end this. How was shooting those end scenes? You don’t see a lot of stunts in the movie, but you do see a lot of the action towards the end.

There’s something so telling about this movie. Especially the instance when she was falsely charged with public intoxication just for trying to speak up about what had happened to her. No one believed what she was going through. How was being able to play that and tell that story?

Initially apprehensive when her boss insists she meet with one of his most important clients, single mom Cherie (Ella Balinska) is relieved and excited when she meets charismatic Ethan (Pilou Asbæk). The influential businessman defies expectations and sweeps Cherie off her feet. But at the end of the night, when the two are alone together, he reveals his true, violent nature. Battered and terrified, she flees for her life, beginning a relentless game of cat-and-mouse with a blood-thirsty assailant hell-bent on her utter destruction. In this edge-of-your-seat dark thriller, Cherie finds herself in the crosshairs of a conspiracy stranger and more evil than she could have ever imagined.
