Jenny Aiko, Alicia Cara star on Def Jam Holiday Album

Def Jam Records and 4th & Broadway have released a new compilation album featuring Jhené Aiko, Coco Jones, Alessia Cara, more traditional Christmas songs and original festive tracks to ring in the holiday season.

The album, titled “Def The Halls,” follows on from 2019’s album A Def Jam Christmas, which debuted on the song Cara Make It To Christmas. This song also appears in this remake, along with the August 8 reworking of “Silent Night” and Aiko’s 2013 song “Wrap Me Up.”

Other highlights include the new “Silver Bells” by North Carolina’s Jones and Michaela Jenny, which brings an R&B twist on modern holiday classics: “This Christmas” (from Donny Hathaway) and “Please Come Home For Christmas” (from Charles Brown). Los Angeles Calabasas duo pays tribute to their beloved 80s duo, Wham! With their “Last Christmas” handed over.

Danielle’s original BBC Christmas tunes and “Under the Mistletoe” by August 8 are two collaborations with rising star Kendra Jay. Another duet brings together 4th & Broadway’s Kid Kane and Babe Chanel in “Naughty”.

“Def the Halls” is rounded off by the originals “Trinket” by British artist Debbie, “Christmas” by international Latin pop star Trinidad Cardona, “Cold With You” by young rapper Anaheim OHNO, and “Everyday” by Kennedy Stephens , “Snowed In” by newly signed St. Louis artist Bry Bee, and “A Hoe’s Christmas” by Broadway actress Jaylene Josie.
