Ms. Marvel Star Went as Tony Stark for Halloween in Perfect MCU Costume

Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani dressed as her favorite Marvel character for Halloween: Tony Stark. Ms. Marvel is an MCU universe television series that follows 16-year-old Kamala Khan (Vellani), a fangirl-turned-superhero of the Marvel universe (particularly Captain Marvel.) The show’s first season premiered on Disney+ this past summer and will hopefully be picked up for a Season 2 following its rave reviews.

Vellani has often spoken publicly about how she relates to Khan’s attachment to the Marvel universe– particularly Ms. Marvel, who made her first appearance in Marvel Comics in 2013. Vellani described herself as a casual fan of the Marvel universe until Robert Downey Jr. made his debut as Iron Man in 2008. The film quickly fueled a Marvel obsession for the actress, and she considers Iron Man her comfort film.

Via One Take News, Vellani took her reputation as a Marvel fan to a new level by wearing a Tony Stark costume for Halloween. The actress appeared in an Instagram post shared by her Ms. Marvel co-star Yasmeen Fletcher dressed as Tony Stark, complete with his signature goatee and repulsor. The costume even looks partially home-made– displaying Vellani’s dedication to recreating Tony Stark’s look. See the pictures below:

While Ms. Marvel hasn’t been picked up for Season 2, Marvel fans will be getting more of Kamala Khan sooner than that. The character is set to appear in the upcoming film The Marvels, which will premiere in theaters in July. The movie will likely follow some developments in Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Ms. Marvel, WandaVision, and the upcoming Marvel television series Secret Invasion. In addition to Velanni, it will also star Brie Larson (Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers) and Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau).

Though an exact plot line has not been released, it is likely The Marvels will pick up where Ms. Marvel’s first season epilogue left off: with the accidental body swap of Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel. The film will probably explore Ms. Marvel’s ongoing adjustment to her superpowers with even high stakes than her show. As for Ms. Marvel season 2, it is highly likely due to rumors and subtle confirmation from the show’s directors, but Disney has not officially confirmed the news.
