Dancing With The Stars Trevor Donovan debuts at number one

The Halloween week of Dancing With the Stars has been difficult for many couples, with many facing some unfortunate circumstances.

Val Chmerkovskiy tested positive for Covid-19 before Monday’s show, so Alan Bersten had to step in for a very fast Argentine tango with Gabby Windey. While it was a bit ahead of the tempo, as the judges pointed out, they still managed to get a score of 38.

In addition, Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas were out of a perfect score last week and topped the road. Pallas had to sit outside rehearsals to deal with a back injury, so Pasha Pashkov stepped in all week. But by Monday night, Ballas was back and ready to dance. They scored 39 out of 40, which left them tied for second at the end of the first round.

During routine dances, Shangela and Gleb Savchenko were the only duo that got a perfect score.

The second round started with group dances.

The Wicked team, led by Vinny Guadagnino and Coco Iwasaki, included Wendy, Preston, Changella, Savchenko, Heidi Di Amelio, Artem Chigvintsev, Jordin Sparks and Brandon Armstrong. They got a score of 33 out of 40.

D’Amelio Ballas, Wayne Brady, Whitney Carson, Daniel Durant and Brett Stewart and captains Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater made up the Scream team. They had a score of 39, eventually winning the extra points.

After both rounds, Guadagnino and Iwasaki were at the bottom of the leaderboard, while Donovan and Slater – who may be the season’s most improved pairings – tied for number one alongside Charli and Ballas. After merging the scores with the viewers’ votes, Heidi was at the bottom alongside Sparks. In the end, the judges rescued Heidi, and sent Jordin Sparks home.
