In our MacBook Pro 13″ M2 (2022) review, we called Apple’s 13-inch laptop the most powerful base line 13-inch MacBook Pro Apple has ever released. Although the new processor isn’t quite as powerful as the M1 Pro or M1 Max chip , it’s still a big improvement over the original M1 chip.
In Geekbench 5.4, which measures overall performance, the MacBook Pro 2022 scored 8911 on the multi-core portion of the test. That’s well above the M1 MacBook Pro’s score of 7,571 on Geekbench 5.3. It also runs circles around the best Windows laptops, beating out laptops like the Asus Zenbook 13 OLED (6,411) and Dell XPS 13 OLED (5,420) in the same performance test. In comparison, the new 14-inch MacBook Pro M2 Pro scored a record 14,965 in the same test.
