What food is Houston famous for? Former Houston Texan JJ Watt says the city’s restaurants are ‘undervalued’

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Former Houston Texan JJ Watt seems to have been daydreaming about good Texas food, specifically in Houston.

Watt took to Twitter to give credit, where credit is due, to the city where thousands of his fellow foodies reside.

“Houston is one of the most underappreciated food cities in the world,” Watt said in a tweet. Houston is no stranger to being ranked among the best in many categories, and food is no exception.

From being one of the top 100 cities in the world, to being among the most educated, to being number one in the United States for home sales in master-planned communities, it’s safe to say that H-town looks pretty attractive.

The video above shows a look back at all the times JJ Watt has appeared for the people of Houston.

It’s no wonder the three-time Defensive Player of the Year will miss a hearty turkey leg after leaving Houston for the Cardinals in early 2021.

Late last month, the former Houston Texans star shared his plans to retire after this season. Even though Watt no longer plays for the NFL’s Houston team, he will always be a Houstonian at heart — and obviously, stomach.
