Pamela Anderson recently recalled musician and ex-husband Kid Rock’s angry outburst during a screening of Borat!. The actor began her career in small parts on television and in film before she landed the role of “Tool Time” assistant Lisa on the hit sitcom, Home Improvement, starring Tim Allen, Patricia Richardson, Richard Karn, and Zachary Taylor Thomas. After two seasons, Anderson scored the role of Casey Jean “C.J.” Parker in the wildly-popular lifeguard drama, Baywatch.
After a successful career in film and television throughout the 90s, Anderson was featured in a cameo role for Sacha Baron Cohen’s 2006 mockumentary film, Borat. The comedy saw the titular Kazakstani immigrant travel to the United States to marry Anderson. In her new memoir, Love, Pamela (via IndieWire), the actor reveals that Robert “Kid Rock” Ritchie had an explosive outburst during a special screening of Borat. A married couple at the time, the partners were guests at former NBCUniversal vice chairman Ron Meyer’s home along with other industry professionals including Steven Spielberg and music producer Rick Rubin. Anderson explains that the film referenced her infamous stolen sex tape with Tommy Lee. This caused Kid Rock to lash out in anger and leave the screening. Read what Anderson wrote below:
The incident resulted in Anderson and Kid Rock’s divorce, with the couple finalizing their split shortly after Borat‘s release. While other factors were involved, the proximity of the situation to their divorce is curious. Now, her relationship with the musician, as well as other significant moments of her life are chronicled in her memoir that has propelled Anderson back into the news. One such moment involved her very first recurring television role as Lisa on Home Improvement.
Shortly after leaving Canada and moving to Los Angeles as a model, Anderson was featured as the cover girl of Playboy magazine’s October 1989 issue. In February of the next year, she was chosen as the Playmate of the Month. In her memoir, Anderson recalls a moment behind-the-scenes on Home Improvement where Allen, dressed in a robe, flashed the actor. Allen joked that it was fair as he had already seen her naked in Playboy. Allen claims that the incident never happened.
Anderson has also used her recent moment in the limelight to comment on her portrayal regarding the release of her sex tape in the Hulu miniseries, Pam and Tommy, starring Lilly James as Anderson and Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee. She called the creative team behind the show “assholes” and has since demanded a public apology for the production. However, Anderson sets the record straight with her new Netflix documentary, Pamela, A Love Story, now available to stream.
