Umbrella Academy Season 4 Begins Filming With Behind-The-Scenes Image

Filming for The Umbrella Academy season 4 has begun, as shown in a behind-the-scenes image. After a group of women across the globe mysteriously bore children, despite having never been pregnant even an hour before birth, a wealthy benefactor purchases some of the children and raises them as a team of superheroes. When one of their adopted brothers dies and another disappears, the students at the Umbrella Academy quickly grow tired of one another and go their separate ways, before being drawn back to each other by their father’s death and a series of apocalypses.
The Umbrella Academy is entering its final season, and a behind-the-scenes image from Steve Blackman on Instagram reveals that filming for season 4 has begun.
While season 3 had the perfect finale, The Umbrella Academy will offer its heroes one last chance to achieve competency as superheroes, as individuals, and as a family, as they face off against their mysterious — and often comedically heartless — father one last time. Whether they succeed against Reginald Hargreeves or not remains the show’s overarching question, especially with the family facing so many inner conflicts as well.
The Umbrella Academy season 3 ends with the siblings trapped in a new reality after the entire universe is reset by Hargeeves. With Hargreeves having stolen the powers of his children in order to create a new and perfect universe for himself, the Umbrellas will be left without any of the abilities they have come to rely on, creating a new dynamic for the team. The cast may even have different powers in season 4, giving each sibling an opportunity to test out a new way of interacting with the world. Klaus will no longer be plagued by ghosts, Five will lack the abilities that made him a time-hopping threat, and Viktor may no longer bring about the apocalypse every season.
All the major members of The Umbrella Academy‘s cast are expected to return for season 4, including Viktor (Elliot Page), Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castañeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Five (Aidan Gallagher), Ben (Justin H. Min), Hargreeves (Colm Feore), and Lila (Ritu Arya). Season 4 will need to end every character’s story, providing satisfying conclusions for each of the characters, despite the dire straits that season 3 left them in. For once, every one of the siblings will be in the same situation as the world falls apart around them, meaning that they can finally work as a team.
As there have not been many teases for The Umbrella Academy season 4, there is no way to know where the story will take the heroes. The show has gone beyond the original comics, so season 4 will feature a brand-new adventure that will test the resolve of every single hero, as they either band together or fall apart. With only six episodes, The Umbrella Academy season 4 is set up to be the shortest season yet. Still, if it’s anything like prior seasons, The Umbrella Academy will continue to raise its stakes and threaten the Umbrellas.
