After May 29 Hand Over, EFCC To Swoop On Ex-Govs, Others

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has stated that it intends to pursue certain outgoing governors and other public officials following the May 29 handover.

Abdulrasheed Bawa, Chairman of the EFCC, indicated in an exclusive interview with Daily Trust on Thursday that more arrests would be made promptly after May 29.

“God willing,” he said, “we’re going to make some enormous arrests and start some huge prosecutions of people in May and June.”

According to Bawa, public office holders who do not leave their positions this year will be hunted down after their terms end.

“And for those people that are not going to be leaving in May, whenever they are leaving, we will be waiting for them to ensure that justice is done,” he added

The EFCC boss also revealed that about two ministries are currently being investigated over misappropriation of funds.
