Crypto Hackers Promote Fake XRP Airdrop on News24 Twitter Account

The Twitter account of one of India’s leading news channels – News24 – recently fell victim to a cryptocurrency scheme. Hackers breached their security to post phishing links of fake XRP drops, urging people to click and potentially get duped.
Crypto scammers have previously compromised the Twitter account of India’s Prime Minister – Narendra Modi – and profiles of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) and Maan Deshi Mahila Bank.

The miscreants took control of News24’s Twitter account and posted fake Ripple events such as XRP airdrop. They attached compromised links and even displayed his image in relation to Ripple’s CEO – Brad Gallinghouse – to gain people’s trust.
