Dana White Plans Return Of Giant Dallas Cowboy For Conor McGregor’s Fight Against Michael Chandler
The onus of filling the 100,000-seat Dallas Cowboys stadium could fall on UFC star Conor McGregor’s comeback fight. The Irish fighter, who is currently on a hiatus, had his last fight in May 2021 against Dustin Poirier. While he prepared for his other duties outside the Octagon, his chances of a return waned until he returned on the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter as the coach of the next generation of fighters. The announcement of TUF’s S31 also brought relief to fans who could see ‘Mystic Mac’ grace the Octagon later this year. As the exact details of his thrilling fight against Michael Chandler are being worked out, UFC president Dana White listed possible venues for the Dublin-born’s return.
Specifically, the 53-year-old spoke to Sports Business Journal about the recently concluded season 1 of The Power Slap. Towards the end of the conversation, when he was asked about the looming question of a return for the former UFC champion, he remained optimistic about the same. In addition, the UFC linchpin set the timeline for the current year.

While the American entrepreneur could not reveal the exact details, he did reveal that he was considering the famous AT&T Stadium. The stadium in Arlington, Texas serves as the home of the NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys.

However, it was not the only contender as a battleground for the two volatile lightweights.
Thus, the UFC head-honcho said, “You could do Cowboys Stadium, Madison Square Garden, obviously Vegas and (T-Mobile Arena or Allegiant Stadium) … we’re looking at all different options.”

Apparently, ‘Notorious’ last faced Dustin ‘Diamond’ Poirier at UFC 264. The 34-year-old lost the fight via doctor stoppage as he suffered a horrific leg injury. Since then, the SBG Ireland product has been on the shelf to care for his broken leg.
Currently, the Irishman is busy shooting for TUF S31 but is also setting up a training camp in Big Bear. After the completion of TUF, both the fighters will face each other in an event which is yet to be worked out.
