Farming Life in Another World has the source material needed for second TV harvest

When will episode 12 of Farming Life in Another World release worldwide, and what do we know so far about season 2 of the anime?

Today marks the start of the 2023 Winter anime slates final broadcast week, with arguably the most anticipated finale being for the Farming Life in Another World series.

Whilst the series failed to revolutionize the genre by any means, Farming Life in Another World did provide fans with a relaxing, feel-good story about taking life on at a rather slower pace.

Although Farming Life in Another World has not yet been renewed for season 2, the anime does have enough source material available to produce a second harvest – here is everything that fans need to know.

Farming Life in Another World episode 12 release date and time

Farming Life in Another World episode 12 is scheduled to premiere on Friday, March 24.

The season 1 finale, titled ‘Birth’, will release for OTT streaming via HiDive at the following international times:

  • British Time – 1 PM
  • European Time – 2 PM
  • India Time – 6:30 PM
  • Philippine Time – 9 PM
  • Australia Eastern Daylight Time – 12 AM

“Hiraku’s second chance was just the beginning. As he reflects on the changes that occurred since his arrival, one thing is certain: The Great Tree Village is lively as always.”

Farming Life in Another World season 2 renewal explored

As previously noted, Farming Life in Another World season 2 still remains TBA; however, there are extremely positive signs that indicate another harvest could be on the cards.

Modern anime renewals mainly come down to two main factors; the availability of source material from an original manga or light novel series, and the popularity of the wider franchise. Thankfully, Farming Life in Another World currently has both of these factors working in the favor of a season 2 renewal.

Farming Life in Another World episode 12 is expected to adapt up until approximately chapter 90 of the original web novel series, although the anime has made a habit of chopping-and-changing the chronological order of events.

The good news is that 14 complete volumes and more than 198 chapters of the series’ subsequent manga adaptation have been published in Japan. Considering that both the light novel and manga are still releasing new content, this means that there is enough source material available for production on season 2 to start straight away!

Whilst Farming Life in Another World has certainly not set the 2023 Winter weekly ratings ablaze, the anime has maintained a respectable international fanbase and ahead of the season 1 finale, above-average user ratings. These include a 74% on Anilist, 3.9/5 on Anime Planet, and 7.52/10 on MyAnimeList.

Interestingly, this makes Farming Life in Another World the third highest-scoring series on MAL from Studio Zero-G, only behind Grand Blue and My Roommate is a Cat.

Considering that Zero-G has renewed a few series with lower scores than this, there remains a good chance that the production team will wish to produce a second season in order to continue momentum.

Overall, it should only be a matter of time before Farming Life in Another World is publicly renewed for season 2 but if you can’t possibly wait for the anime to return, why not check out the manga adaptation?

Seven volumes of the Farming Life in Another World manga have been published in English by One Peace Books, available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
