Stan Collymore has said that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy should apologise to Mauricio Pochettino and get him back as the manager as a replacement for Antonio Conte.
The former Liverpool striker has written in CaughtOffSide that Pochettino would love to return to Tottenham and is waiting for Levy to make contact with him.
Pochettino led Tottenham to the UEFA Champions League final in 2019, but the 51-year-old manager was sacked a few months later after disappointing results.
The Times have reported that Tottenham are considering sacking Conte as their head coach after the Italian’s extraordinary outburst last weekend.
According to The Guardian, Spurs are interested in bringing back Pochettino to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Collymore wrote: “With Thomas Tuchel now out of the running for the Spurs job, for me, Daniel Levy has to go with either Mauricio Pochettino again or Thomas Frank.
“They’re both the opposite of Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho. They’re progressive managers who promote positivity and that is exactly what Spurs need right now.
“I know Pochettino’s assistant Jesus Perez very well and I believe the Argentine would jump at the chance to go back to London but it seems he has been holding out and waiting to see if a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid come in for him but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen, so a return to Spurs now makes a lot of sense.
“I think he’s just waiting for Levy to say to him ‘I’m sorry, I messed up, I shouldn’t have sacked you, come back, here is £200m, go and spend it, build a new team and go and win us a trophy!’”
HITC Verdict: Tottenham return possible
In our view, it is very much possible that Mauricio Pochettino could be back at Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023.
Pochettino is without a managerial job at the moment, and the chance to go back to a club where the fans love him could be very tempting to the 51-year-old.
True, Tottenham are not at the level of Paris Saint-Germain, but Pochettino would get more time at the North London club than he got at PSG.
