Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin’s divorce rumors started from a YouTube channel claiming that the couple will be allegedly filing for divorce in April as Hyun Bin’s alleged gambling habits have become a sinking factor.
The channel’s ridiculous claims included that Hyun Bin has allegedly lost over ₩3.00 billion KRW ($2.29 million USD) in stock investments and currently facing a lot of gambling debt.
The rumor was soon debunked by the agency of Hyun Bin Vast Entertainment. The agency noted, “The video is ridiculous and not true at all.”
“It’s not that we didn’t know about it because we have been continuously monitoring for fake news. Since it is not true, we were discussing internally how to deal with this. We were preparing to respond that it wasn’t true,” the label further commented.
K-drama and K-pop stars often face malicious fake rumors and the agency assured fans that they are taking action to ensure the video is taken down soon.
A look at Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin’s dreamy love story
Contrary to popular belief, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin’s friendship became stronger even before the K-drama pair signed up for the drama Crash Landing On You. In 2017, the actors acted in the movie Negotiation which earned impressive reviews leading fans to ‘ship the couple.’
During the promotion of Negotiation, Hyun Bin and Ye Jin were spotted together on a number of occasions including once on a grocery run in the U.S. While fans started believing that the couple is more than friends, their agency debunked all claims saying that they are just good acquaintances.
Followed by the movie’s success, Hyun Bin and Ye Jin signed for the drama Crash Landing On You in 2019. The reunion was special not just for fans but also for our lead couple as Ye Jin said in the drama’s press conference, “It’s rare for actors to meet again in another project so I think this is fate. Hyun Bin is flawlessly suited to his character in the drama. Our chemistry, too.”
Making it official
The Crash Landing On You pair took their sweet time to confirm the dating rumors as it finally came to light through popular Korean media Dispatch on January 1, 2021. Followed by Dispatch’s revelation, the couple addressed fans gushing about their relationship with heartwarming letters.
Ye Jin had written on Instagram, “I’m thankful to have been able to meet a good person, and I’ll work hard to tend [the relationship] with care…”
A year later, the couple tied the knot in the presence of friends and family in March 2022.

2022 became even more special for Hyun Bin and Ye Jin fans who got to know that the couple has become proud parents of a baby boy on November 27, 2022.
Revealing their baby’s name, Ye Jin later wrote on IG, “And I have so many more people to thank. I feel like I’m finally becoming an adult, now that I have a child of my own… Looking at how precious Alkong is, it reminds me of how we’re also precious children to our own parents. All babies are blessings. They light up this world…”
