The Athletic journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke has said that Tottenham Hotspur never had a chance of appointing Thomas Tuchel, who always had either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid on his mind.
Described as a ‘serious candidate’ to replace Antonio Conte, the 49-year-old looks like he has made his decision about taking over the Bundesliga champions after Julian Nagelsmann looks likely to be sacked.
However, it seems Thomas Tuchel never had any intention of managing Tottenham Hotspur, as he was looking to be given the reins of a superteam like Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.

The former Chelsea boss would have perhaps made for a top-class appointment, as his tactical mind is unquestionably brilliant and he has succeeded in the Premier League before.
Furthermore, the German has showcased a tendency of getting the best of squads that were far from perfection, as seen during his tenures at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.
While several Tottenham fans were hoping for Thomas Tuchel to become their next manager, Jack Pitt-Brooke has said that his sights were always set on either the Bayern Munich or the Real Madrid job.
“No Tactics Tom for Tottenham. He always wanted a top, top job this summer (Real or Bayern) and now it looks like he’s got one”, he tweeted.

One thing that the ex-Mainz tactician ensures is immediate success, considering he is excellent at handling the pressure that comes with knockout competitions.
While some would argue that Tuchel was tailor-made for Tottenham as they are starving for a piece of silverware, that model suits clubs like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid a lot more in comparison.
With that in mind, a manager in the mould of Mauricio Pochettino who could patiently build a competitive team would fit a club like Spurs a lot more in comparison, which indicates that all is not lost.
