Journalist thinks 27-year-old Tottenham player ‘constantly challenges’ Conte in training

Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold has said that he thinks that Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte is challenged by midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on a regular basis.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has said on his YouTube channel that he gets the sense that Tottenham and Denmark international midfielder Hojbjerg challenges head coach Conte with his decisions.

Gold said: “I have always sensed this with Conte and Hojbjerg. I could be wrong, it’s purely my sensing, but I just think that Hojbjerg is a character who constantly challenges, consistently has his own ideas of how things should be.

“I cannot imagine, and I think I may even have been told they have, that Hojbjerg and Conte, I am sure, they would have clashed over the years, kind of pushed each other on.”

HITC Verdict: Not a bad thing

Now, it is clear that Alasdair Gold’s comments on Tottenham Hotspur duo Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Antonio Conte are his opinion.

The Football.London journalist covers Tottenham and is an expert on the North London club.

So, Gold would have a better sense of the club and what’s happening than most.

Now, we do not think that managers and players having disagreements is necessarily a bad thing.

After all, a manager is not always right, and players need to be included in the decision-making process.

We all see how Hojbjerg plays.

The 27-year-old former Southampton midfielder is a leader in the middle of the park.

We do not think that there should be any issue if players ask managers questions and try to share their opinion.

As long as it is done in a respectful way, it is fine.
