‘Magnificent’: Bukayo Saka left stunned by ‘unbelievable’ Arsenal teammate who rarely plays
Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has raved about his teammate Rob Holding on the club’s official website.
Saka has said that Arsenal central defender Holding played well against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The central defender got a rate start due to injury to William Saliba.
It was the 27-year-old’s first start in the Premier League this season.
The Englishman hardly plays and is essentially a squad player at Arsenal at the moment.
Holding has made one start and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season.
The Arsenal no. 16 has made six starts and one substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League, one appearance in the Carabao Cup, and two in the FA Cup for Mikel Arteta’s side this campaign.
Bukayo Saka on Arsenal teammate Rob Holding
Saka said about Holding: “I gave him a big hug when he came into the changing room because he deserves it.
“He was magnificent. We need that, you know, when he’s coming in to stay at the level that we’ve been playing.
“He was unbelievable today, so credit to him.”
Showing his importance
In our view, Rob Holding showed against Crystal Palace that he can still be of importance to Arsenal.
Yes, the Englishman is not going to get chances when everyone is fit, but he showed in the London derby against Crystal Palace that he can still do a job.
And Arsenal need players like Holding in the final weeks and months of the season.
After all, the Gunners are aiming to win the Premier League title, and they need all of their players pulling in the same direction.
