Reese Witherspoon and her estranged husband Jim Toth, who share a son Tennessee James, have announced their divorce.
The Legally Blonde star is the mother of three children from two different marriages. She was previously married to her Cruel Intentions co-actor, Ryan Phillippe, with whom she shares two kids.
Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth have vowed to make their only child and the entire family their priority as they go separate ways.
Tennessee James Toth is 10 years old
Reese and Jim welcomed their only son in September 2012. Tennessee is now 10 years old.
After she birthed her youngest child, a source told PEOPLE that the actress was eager to have a third kid and had expressed her desire to have a baby with Jim right after their wedding in March 2011.
“Reese has been very open with her kids about her plans to expand the family,” the source said at the time.
Tennessee can be seen in many of Reese’s pictures on Instagram. He and his half-siblings often spend time together, including festivals and family trips.
Actress has another son and a daughter from her first marriage
Reese shares her daughter, Ava Elizabeth Phillippe, and son, Deacon Reese Phillippe, with her first husband, Ryan. The Cruel Intentions stars got engaged in 1998 and tied the knot a year later.
The couple first met during the actress’ 21st birthday party and she reportedly told Ryan at the time: “I think you’re my birthday present.”
Reese welcomed her eldest daughter in 1999. Ava is now 23 and is popular for sharing a striking resemblance with her actress mother.
Their son, Dacon, was born in 2003. He has followed in the footsteps of his parents to become an actor himself.
He made his debut in Season 3 of Never Have I Ever on Netflix in August 2022.

The news regarding Reese and Jim’s divorce comes two days after the actress turned a year older. The couple’s 12th wedding anniversary was only two days away as well.
In an Instagram post, she wrote: “It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce.
“We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”
“Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.”
