Report: Brazilian forward Arsenal want too expensive for Barcelona, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang alternative

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have received a boost in their quest to sign Vitor Roque, as Barcelona reportedly cannot afford to sign him in the summer transfer window and could try to bring former Gunners striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Chelsea instead.

Barcelona stance on Arsenal target Vitor Roque

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who are reporting this morning that due to financial issues, Barcelona may not be able to provide the huge outlay needed to sign Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense in the summer transfer window.

The former La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners have reportedly identified their former player Aubameyang as an alternative.

The former Arsenal striker is not in the plans of Chelsea, and Barcelona are hoping that the Blues will terminate his contract at the end of the season which would allow them to sign the Gabonese star on a free.

And this is hugely encouraging for Arsenal, who have also been linked with Vitor Roque.

Sport have reported Arsenal want to sign the 18-year-old forward, although the Brazilian youngster wants to move to Barcelona.

However, if Barcelona are unable to afford the teenager, then he could be persuaded to change his mind and switch to Arsenal, who could win the Premier League title this season and are going places.
