Sacramento officials approve a plan to rename the skate park after Tyre Nichols

Sacramento Skate Park is officially named after Nichols Pictures

Sacramento, California – The Sacramento City Council has unanimously approved the renaming of a skate park in honor Nichols Pictures.

The Regency Community Park will be renamed Tire Nichols Skate Park.

Nichols’ death made national headlines in January after he was struck in an attack caught on camera in Memphis, Tennessee.

Five city police officers are charged with murder in connection with Nicole’s death.

Nichols was a well-known skateboarder who spent time in parks in and around Sacramento.

Councilwoman Lisa Kaplan said the city will partner with The Skatepark Project, a nonprofit organization founded by skateboarder Tony Hawk. The nonprofit has made many grants to underprivileged communities.
