While Shadow and Bone Season 2 has done decently well, debuting at #1 a week ago and maintaining it, that run is now over. Shadow and Bone has now been dethroned on Netflix’s top 10 list by Waco: American Apocalypse.
what is that, exactly? As you may be able to guess, this is actually a limited documentary series about Waco, the infamous cult massacre that may or may not have been caused by the FBI (it probably was). The series is only three episodes in total for just over two hours of content, so it’s just… a long movie rather than an actual TV series. But the show reaching #1 shows there’s still a lot of interest in Waco thirty years later.
I was immediately reminded of the fictional miniseries, Waco, starring Taylor Kitsch as David Koresh, which I thought was actually quite cool. It aired on Paramount Network, and I think it’s on Paramount Plus now. Apparently it’s getting a sequel series, Waco: The Aftermath, debuting next month on Showtime? I had no idea. Not sure what that would be about, exactly.
As for Shadow and Bone, it remains to be seen if a week at #1 is enough for Netflix

As for the rest of the list, You Season 4 Part 2 remains at #3, which with its split season may have performed slightly underperformed, if I had to guess. Outer Banks Season 3, which was already renewed for Season 4 prior to release, is a rarity, being #4, an even higher placement weeks later. Very strong performance there.
The Glory is at #5, which has actually been Netflix global #1 hit for a few weeks now, even though it didn’t top the charts in the US. The Korean Revenge series is airing in two parts with a total of 16 episodes, which is a high count for a Netflix series. It’s scoring great among both critics and fans, and could be one of Netflix’s big sleeper hits this year. I think I’m going to actually check it out this weekend.
My guess is that Waco will be knocked down soon, given how small it is, and we’ll see what replaces it.

Update (3/26): Well, I was right. The Waco documentary was kicked off the top 10 list almost immediately. But it wasn’t Shadow and Bone who unfortunately went back on top, hoping to see it renewed.
Rather, the new #1 show on Netflix is instead The Night Agent, the new spy thriller that ran for a total of 10 episodes, and as such, can be pegged there for a while. Shadow and Bone has actually dropped to fourth place, well behind the debut of the new season of Love Is Blind, one of Netflix’s more popular reality series.
It’s unclear which is doing better, The Night Agent or Shadow and Bone, two very different series. Shadow and Bone has a better critical score, with The Night Agent only having a 67%, but it has an 81% among fans. Then again, Netflix doesn’t really consider the score that much, and it all comes down to viewership. But despite Shadow and Bone falling down a bit, I still think it probably did well enough to warrant a third season. a third season And Six of the Crows spin-off? Eh, I don’t know about that, necessarily, but we’ll have to see. There’s already a lot invested in the Six of Crows show, as it’s already being written.
Somehow, Wednesday is now back on the top 10 list, a truly absurd performance for a series that debuted back in November 2022. I don’t know how or why this is happening, as the only Wednesday news I’ve seen was Jenna Ortega’s comment on the writing of the show that they had to “correct”, but I’ve never really seen a series like this before. Not seen doing it, except for one show when a new season is about to air. Which is not happening with Wednesday. wild time
