Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set for one of the lowest opening weekends the DC Universe has ever seen. The film, which opened in theaters on March 17, reteams director David F. Sandberg with returning cast members including Asher Angel as the teen Billy Batson and Zachary Levi as his adult superhero form Shazam. It is a follow-up to the 2019 film Shazam!, a largely standalone superhero effort from the connected universe which was already one of the lower-performing DCU outings, making $365.9 million worldwide off a budget of $100 million.
