Episode 4 of The Mandalorian season 3 introduces fans to a host of new characters but who exactly are the new arrivals in the cast?
After last week’s detour to Coruscant, which featured an almost entirely new cast, the latest installment of The Mandalorian puts the focus squarely back onto Mando, Grogu and their Mandalorian tribe, which now includes Bo-Katan.
Throughout episode 4 of season 3, The Mandalorian introduces a host of new cast members as it fleshes out the tribe as well as a key moment from Grogu’s past.
The Mandalorian season 3 episode 4 release date and plot preview
Episode 4 of The Mandalorian season 3 landed on Disney+ on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
Titled The Foundling, the new chapter sees both Grogu and Bo-Katan learning how to fit into their new surroundings as they become accustomed to Mando’s tribe.
When tragedy strikes, Bo-Katan leads a desperate mission that helps to ingratiate herself within the tribe while Grogu reminisces about a pivotal moment from his past at the Jedi Temple.

Ahmed Best as Kelleran Beq
We begin our cast rundown for episode 4 with the actor playing Kelleran Beq, the Jedi who saved Grogu from Order 66.
Star Wars fans will already be familiar with this cast member as the actor is Ahmed Best.
Yes, that’s right, Beq is played by the same actor that plays Jar Jar Binks, the clumsy Gungan who appeared throughout the Star Wars prequel films as well as the Clone Wars animated series.
Aside from his various roles in Star Wars, 49-year-old Ahmed Best has also starred in almost 70 roles throughout his career with notable appearances coming in the likes of Open Window, Robot Chicken, Cougar Town, Law & Order: LA, Suspense as well as the video games Fallout 76 and The Last Of Us Part II.
Wesley Kimmel as Ragnar
Los Angeles-born actor Wesley Kimmel is the nephew of talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel, and despite only being 14 years old, already has more than 10 roles to his name.
After first appearing in sketches on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Wesley has since gone on to appear in the likes of Good Girls, Sneakerheads, WandaVision, Netflix’s Your Place Or Mine and The Book Of Boba Fett, where he played a Tusken Raider child.
After making his first appearance as Ragnar in episode 1, the character finds himself at the heart of the story in episode 4 and is also revealed to be the son of Paz Viszla.
Jason Chu as Mandalorian Judge
Appearing as the Mandalorian fight judge in episode 4 is Jason Chu, who primarily works as a stuntman.
His career has seen him appear in over 40 productions including The Boys, Free Guy, Love Death + Robots, Blade Runner 2049, the recent Planet Of The Apes movies, Logan, Captain America: Civil War and, of course, The Mandalorian, where he has previously starred as the stunt double for Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon.
Temuera Morrison as Clone Troopers
New Zealand-born actor Temuera Morrison has had a long history in the Star Wars franchise, first appearing in 2002’s Attack Of The Clones as the bounty hunter Jango Fett as well thousands of his clones.
Morrison recently starred as the titular character in The Book Of Boba Fett and also had a clone trooper cameo in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Away from Star Wars, Temuera has appeared in Aquaman, Dora And The Lost City Of Gold, Moana, Frontier, Tatau, Green Lantern, Speed 2 and the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street.
Juan Javier Cardenas as Senate Guard Captain
And finally, we end with Juan Javier Cardenas who has a minor role as the guard who helps Kelleran Beq and Grogu escape.
The Florida-born actor has appeared in more than 30 roles over his career, with notable appearances in The Walking Dead, Gordita Chronicles, The Rookie, 9-1-1: Lone Star, SWAT, Snowfall, Lusa, The Good Wife and the 2010 video game Red Dead Redemption.
