Fortunately, it’s already been a big year, and The Night Agent invites you to the edge of your seat to grip the armrest. The action-thriller genre will undoubtedly be a familiar one to Netflix subscribers, whether you’re acquainted with titles from Outer Banks to The Recruit.
The Night Agent, on the other hand, was created by Shawn Ryan and based on Matthew Quirk’s novel of the same name. It centers on FBI Agent Peter Sutherland as he fights not to be swallowed up by a conspiracy regarding a Russian mole who has infiltrated the United States government.

The Night Agent is made up of 10 episodes on Netflix and all installments were made available for streaming on Thursday, March 23rd 2023.
As for how many parts are in season 1 of The Night Agent, it’s just one. A number of recent seasons from popular Netflix series such as Stranger Things and Firefly Lane have been split into two parts. However, that isn’t the case here.
On the other hand, it’s worth noting that there’s the potential to expand the project into another season. Netflix hasn’t announced a follow-up season but it’s arguably too premature to expect concrete renewal news.
‘I always try to do something different’
Shawn, the showrunner, was recently interviewed by ScreenRant and asked why he wished to adapt the source material for the screen:
“I would say I always try to do something different in my shows. I’ve never done a political thriller before, but I have dealt with, in shows like The Shield and other things, the idea of power and the corrupting nature of it, and people vying for power within certain institutions, whether it’s in a police station, whether it’s in the military, etc.”
He continued: “I think one thing I was really interested in here was examining ambitious characters, some of whom have a lot of power, [and] some, like Peter, our main character, who [don’t] have a lot of power. [I was interested in] how they interact with each other, and how they get forced to choose between bad things.”
