Stan Collymore has warned Newcastle United defender Dan Burn that the club’s owners could sell him.
The former Liverpool striker has written in CaughtOffSide that Newcastle owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), will not hesitate to move on Burn if they get better players.
The 30-year-old is a big Newcastle fan and is living the dream of playing for the club that he supports.
Burn has received widespread praise for his performances for Newcastle, but pundit Collymore believes that if Newcastle owners find someone better, then they will ditch him and get that player in.

Collymore wrote: “The Saudi owners are in it to win it, they won’t care how the fanbase feels towards Howe, Sven Botman, Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak, or any other individual.
“They won’t care that Dan Burn is a boyhood fan. He could have ‘Howay the Lads’ tattooed across his arse cheeks and it won’t matter to the owners. They’re not here to mess around. They want to take Newcastle United to the very top and compete with the likes of Manchester City.”
HITC Verdict: Staying positive
In our view, Dan Burn should stay positive about his Newcastle United future and should not worry about what PIF might or might not do.
Now, of course, all clubs look for better players and upgrades, and Newcastle will surely look to do that, especially if they finish in the Premier League and qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
However, as long as Burn plays well and does his best in each and every game that he features in, he need not worry about his position or his future at Newcastle.
