‘A circle has been closed’: Manager Tottenham linked with has decided to leave his club

Tottenham Hotspur managerial target Luciano Spalletti could leave Napoli now.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti on his website, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on appointing Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti as their new manager.

Spalletti has led Napoli to the Serie A title this season.

However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has said that the Italian tactician has told him that he wants to take a sabbatical and has expressed a desire to leave the club.

De Laurentiis has suggested that he will accept the wish of the former AS Roma boss.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has quoted De Laurentiis as saying: “Yes, Spalletti told me he’d prefer to take a sabbatical year, could I say no? He gave me a lot and I thank him”.

“He came to me and said that he’s given his all, that a circle has been closed”.

Could Tottenham Hotspur get Luciano Spalletti?

It seems that Luciano Spalletti thinks that his time at Napoli has come to a natural end.

After all, the 64-year-old has guided Napoli to the Scudetto this season.

The Italian clearly wants to end his tenure at the Naples club on a positive note.

True, Spalletti wants to take a break, but the lure of managing in the Premier League could be very tempting for the Italian.

Tottenham Hotspur are a massive club, and the chance to guide the North London outfit to success could be very appealing to the Italian boss.
