Car rolls out of tow truck and crashes Georgia highway on video

A car spun off a truck tow ramp on a Georgia highway, flew through the air and crashed last week, all caught on video.

The wild scene unfolded when the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office was assisting the Georgia State Patrol last Wednesday on a highway, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both sides of the highway are separated by medium grass, and a flatbed tow truck parked on the opposite side of the highway with the slope lowered.

The car exploded through a barrier at the back of the ramp and hit the cab of the truck as it was moving midair.

Seconds before the car accelerates downhill, a person is shown in the body cam video walking in front of the tow truck. The person reached the edge of the highway as the car was seen flying behind him.

The car landed on its side and flipped, colliding with another car in the other lane. According to CBS affiliate WCTV.

The first car eventually came to a stop as smoke rose from the wreckage.

WCTV reported that the driver, identified as a 21-year-old woman from Tallahassee, Florida, survived the crash but sustained serious injuries.
