Dion emphasized that she is determined to overcome her health challenges and looks forward to returning to the stage when she is fully ready. In an official statement released by her tour, it was announced that all remaining dates for 2023 and 2024 have been cancelled with deep disappointment. This includes her highly anticipated 16-country European tour, which was scheduled to commence in August in Amsterdam and conclude with two shows at the O2 arena in London in April of the following year. Dion, renowned for her powerful voice and renowned hits such as “Because You Loved Me,” “My Heart Will Go On,” and “Think Twice,” has been greatly impacted by Stiff-Person Syndrome, which has affected her ability to sing. Stiff-Person Syndrome commonly results in stiff muscles in the torso, arms, and legs, often triggered by noise or emotional distress. Dion shared her struggle with the disorder through a tearful video on Instagram in December 2022, explaining how it prevented her from utilizing her vocal cords in the accustomed manner. Since then, her health condition has persisted, necessitating the cancellation of her tour dates. Dion’s “Courage World Tour” initially launched in 2019 and saw her successfully complete 52 shows before the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted the remaining performances. In light of her health problems, she had previously canceled the North American leg of the tour. While fans expressed their disappointment online, they also extended their support and well wishes to Dion. Recognizing the significance of prioritizing her health, they encouraged her to take care of herself and applauded her courage.
