While he may no longer have an active role in creating new Star Wars stories, George Lucas personally named one character in The Mandalorian. Showrunners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni still have great respect for Lucas and are known to heed his advice whenever he visits the Star Wars sets. One such visit resulted in the name of a Mandalorian character introduced in season 2, adding a bit of Lucas' influence to The Mandalorian.
