How To Escape From Prison

Star Citizen’s universe is pretty tightened for criminals. If for any reason you die while having a Crime Stat, you will wake up inside a cell in prison, formally known as Klescher Rehabilitation Facility. The prison is located in Aberdeen, a moon of Hurston.

Escaping from prison doesn’t need any significant requirement, and you can do it on your own. However, you will have a tough path ahead to successfully break out of Klescher, as the road is full of dangers.

How To Escape From Prison

Firstly, we highly recommend you check your sentence duration before you decide to escape. If your sentence expires in less than an hour, escaping is not a wise plan. However, if you have to stay behind bars for several hours or you are looking for the fun of escaping, there are a few things that you need to learn.

The process of escaping doesn’t have any requirements, but once you are out of Klescher, you will only have 10 minutes to survive. The prison’s uniform simply cannot tolerate the temperature on Aberdeen’s surface. As a result, someone should be waiting for you outside Klescher with a ship. So, before starting your escape, ask in the general chat and see if anyone is willing to give you a pick-up after escaping. Because if you can’t survive after escape, you will be returned to prison with a lengthened sentence.

Get The Fan Code

The first step in escaping is to get a security code that stops a giant fan. Klescher’s ground level features a bunch of big fans on the wall, one of which is your way out. For doing so, head towards Working Mines and get past the first gate.

Now, if you look to your right, there is a small control room with a window. If you look through the window there are a bunch of screens. Hold “F” and roll the Mouse Wheel upwards to zoom on the screens. One of the screens includes a 4-digit code. Write it down somewhere.

Now return to the main area and once you reach the middle circle, move to Section 01. If you go a few steps forward, you should be able to see a big fan on the wall on your right. Follow the red line drawn on the image below and jump to the rocky ledge in front of the fan. Aberdeen’s low gravity makes it easy to jump higher than normal.

In front of the fan, there is a small screen. Enter the code and click on the tick. Now, you should see the green “Open” word on the screen. After a few seconds, the fan will stop rotating and you can inside its tunnel.

Inside Fan

Moving through the tunnels is quite complicated as it is like a maze. You may return to your entry point at any time if you follow the wrong path. If it is your first time escaping, then you will likely die more than a few times in the tunnels, which means everything will start all over again. So, don’t get frustrated and concentrate!

After entering the fan, follow the way until you reach a chimney. Follow the edgy path around the chimney from your right until you enter the cave tunnel. Once you enter the cave, press “T” to turn on your flashlight. Move straight until you reach the hole to drop down.

Now, you should drop once more, but you should do it in two or three phases. If you jump down in one phase, you will likely break your leg and cannot run anymore. Anywhere inside the caves that you break your leg, you should forfeit and start the escape again, as it is impossible to survive the tunnels if you cannot run.

Before jumping, look down. You should be able to see two edges in front of you. The one that is deeper is your destination. Increase your walking speed via Mouse Wheel a little bit, and then walk towards that edge. You shouldn’t run or jump toward it, as the rocks will push you back and you will drop all the way down.

Tunnel 3

If you have made it, now look back and down, there is one more edge. For this one, you need to run toward the edge, but again, no jumping. If you can’t make it to the second edgy cliff, the chance of breaking your leg is much lower than before, but it is still the safest way.

Now that you are deep inside the well, look around, and you should be able to see a small path forward where you need to crouch. Follow the path and then go through the tunnel that has a blue plant next to it. Always remember these blue plants. These are intentional marks to let you know that you are on the right track. Whenever you see one of these plants, it means you are on the correct path.

Tunnel 6

Follow the path and turn right at the end, where there is a rock similar to a half-wall.

Tunnel 7

Vault to the other side of the half-wall, and then you will see two other half-walls with a plant root covering their surface. You need to vault over the one on your left, which leads you to a new tunnel.

Tunnel 8

Move forward inside the tunnel, turn left, and then turn right. It looks like a dead-end, but if you look up, there is a blue plant on the wall, on the right side of which there is an edge. Climb up the edgy cliff and enter the tunnel on the left.

Continue the path and you will reach new half-walls. This time, however, you need to vault over both of them in the order shown below. If you don’t follow this order, you will fall inside a well and return to the entry point.

Now, get inside the tunnel on your right and climb up another ledge at the end of the path.

Now, you should see another blue plant and a rocky edge on its left. Climb up and go forward, then go straight and climb up another cliff.

Now turn back, and you should spot a rocky platform in front of you. Run towards it and jump to safely land on the platform.

Tunnel 17

Turn back once again, and look a bit right, where there is one more cliff. Run and jump on it, and then climb up three multiple edges, and at the end, you should see one more blue plant. Go to the tunnel on the right and continue the path straightforwardly.

You should climb up from 10 cliffs until you reach the edge of the level. There is a cliff in front of you. Run and jump on it, then turn back, and do the same for another cliff. You are simply descending in two phases. Once you land on the second platform, move straight.

Now, you should fall off from a small edge. On your right, there should be a blue plant, and in front of you, there is another edge. Walk and jump onto the edge. Your walking speed should be lower than running and higher than a slow street walk.

Turn left, and run and jump onto another edge in front of you. Move to the right and stay on top of an iron-made platform. Look in front of you, and you should see a blue plant on a ledge. That is your next destination. Run and jump towards it.

Turn back and look a bit right to spot your next destination. Run and jump on it, and then climb up the edges on your right as shown in the first and second images below. Follow the tunnel on your right straight until you reach a ruined platform.

Jump over the platform and look to your left, where there is another part of that platform inside a cave. Run and jump on it. Now look back, and you will spot the middle part of this ruined bridge. You need to run and jump onto the middle part.

Once you land, turn left and climb up three edges, then turn back, and you should see an edge covered by an iron platform next to a plant. Run and jump on it. Then climb up the edges.

Follow the tunnel on your left and climb up a few little edges until you spot another of those ruined bridges in front of you. The main goal is to get over that bridge, but you can’t do it right now.

So, turn left, where you can see multiple parts of the ruined bridge. Give yourself a good running space and then run and jump over the small edgy platform marked in the image below by an arrow. This is the hardest jump to make in the entire process of escaping, but this jump is required. Don’t use the ruined platform on your left to get closer to the target platform, as those iron pieces on your left won’t allow you to run and jump properly.

Tunnel 41

The moment you land successfully on your target platform, hold “S” to avoid slipping down. Now that you are standing still, look in front of yourself, where there is another ruined platform beneath you. Walk and jump on it. Make your jump a little bit to the right, so that the long iron hanging in the middle doesn’t ruin your efforts.

Tunnel 42

Now turn left, move towards the edge, and climb up two times. Move forward and enter the tunnel.

Be careful here, as there is a well that you need to jump over. Climb a few more edges, and you will spot the ruined bridge we witnessed earlier. Run and jump on it. There is a dead body on this bridge with a collectible notebook. It doesn’t matter if you miss it.

Now turn back and move to your right, where there is a cliff. Move straight and go inside the tunnel on your left. Continue the path until you see the middle part of the bridge. Run and jump onto the bridge. Turn right and run and jump onto the far end of the bridge.

Go Through Laser Gates And Get Out

Once you make this jump, you are done with the tunnels, but there are still dangers that could kill you easily. Continue the path, get past the door, and once you reach the chimney, turn left and walk slowly until you drop onto the lower level.

Move to the door on your left, where you can spot a path blocked by multiple lasers. Before doing anything extra, press “i” to open the inventory. Drag your backpack, and drop it on the hand icon at the bottom of the screen. The backpack can touch one of the lasers at this stage. So, you need to remove it.

Lasers

Lasers cannot be destroyed, which means you need to get through them without touching them. As you can see, the door is blocked by a small box that you need to vault over. There is a bug on vaulting over this box. Sometimes, when you vault over the box, your character passes through the first laser as well. If this happened to you, do NOT move backward. Just take a few steps forward and make sure you will not touch the laser behind you again. However, if you don’t face this bug, your character will stand right in front of the first laser after vaulting. This time, take a few steps back, press “Left Ctrl” to crouch, and then slowly walk beneath the laser.

For the second set of lasers, you need to go prone. Press “X” and then move slowly. If there is a dead body on the ground, make sure to don’t touch it as your character’s body could move up and touch the laser.

Lasers 2

Once you get past the second laser, press “X” again to stand up. Going over the third laser requires you to jump onto the box on the right. Once you are on top of the box, look at the door, and run towards it. Do not jump at all, as you will get stuck to the ceiling, pushing you right onto the lasers.

Lasers 3

Before leaving this room, there is a window on the left, through which you can spot two codes on a screen. Write them down. Now exit the door and follow the path based on the images below until you reach a corridor marked by the number “3”.

Turn right at the end of this corridor and crouch to pass through the small tunnel. Then, you need to jump onto an edge. There is a hatch in front of you. Don’t jump outside the hatch yet.

This is a critical part of escaping. As soon as you jump off the hatch, you will be exposed to Aberdeen’s weather, which means your 10-minute survival time will start ticking. So, if someone is supposed to come and pick you up, make sure to contact them. As long as you are inside the hatch, you are safe.

Out 3

Now, move outside the hatch, and follow the path to your left, which leads to stairs. These stairs are your final nightmares of escaping. There are two parts on these stairs, where the metal plates have been broken, and you need to jump over them. The first piece of advice is to never run and jump. Due to geometrical issues or bugs, running and jumping don’t always work, and sometimes your character may jump late and you fall down. If you fall down here, there is no chance of survival.

Out 4

The first set of stairs includes one of these broken plates. Increase your walk speed just a little bit and once you reach the broken plates walk forward and jump. The second one is placed on the third stair that you will step on, but this one is much closer to the end of the stairs.

Out 5

Once you get past both of those broken stairs, there is one last stair to step over. Now, if you look to your right, there are still stairs, but this one is broken badly, and you can’t get over it even with a run and jump, so don’t even try that.

Instead, there is a black box on the staircase you are standing at. Go behind that box, and then jump on top of it. In front of you, there is a platform. Walk and jump onto the platform, but be aware this platform also features broken plates.

Now, turn left, and you can see a metal sheet leaning onto a gas valve. Go on top of the red valve and once you reach the top level, jump over the black metal on the left, and then jump onto the far end of the staircase.

Well, you are now free! You have successfully escaped the prison now, but someone needs to pick you up with a ship before the timer reaches zero. However, there is a way to lengthen this survival time.

How To Get Ground Vehicles After Escaping Klescher

Parking Lot 1

If you are lucky enough, you can get on a ground vehicle after escaping the prison, which saves you from Aberdeen’s hot weather. Once you are on top of the big chimney, go around it towards a yellow box-like building on the other side. Remember those codes you wrote down after laser gates? Enter the first code on the screen attached to the yellow building. Keep in mind that this screen has a bug. You need to spam numbers several times until it finally starts getting your input. Once you can see the numbers you enter on the screen, it means the terminal works. Enter the first code and then click on “Open Ramp.” This will open up the parking lot, and if you are lucky, there should be a ground vehicle inside it.

If this parking lot is empty, there is one more you can try out. Continue the path around the chimney until you reach a bunch of red containers on top of a platform. Look to the left side of those containers, and you should spot another of those yellow parking lots. Move next to it and try the second code. If it is empty as well, this means you have no time to lose. Try to find someone that could pick you up, or you will wake up inside your cell once again.
