‘In the next days’: Fabrizio Romano has Ilkay Gundogan update amid Arsenal rumour

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been linked with Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, and Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on his situation on Twitter.
According to a report in Spanish publication SPORT in March 2023, Arsenal are trying to sign Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.
The report claimed interest in the £165,000-a-week (SalarySport) German star from Barcelona as well.
And now Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared his inside information on the 32-year-old.
Romano has reported on Twitter that Manchester City will offer the former Borussia Dortmund star a new contract.
Talks between the Citizens and Gundogan will continue in the coming days.
Romano has added that Barcelona have also made an offer to the German star.
Manchester City stance on Ilkay Gundogan blow for Arsenal
In our view, that Manchester City will offer Ilkay Gundogan a new contract will come as a blow for Arsenal.
We do not think that the German will leave City and join Arsenal on a free transfer.
No way, especially now that the Citizens have shown him that they want him.
City clearly want Gundogan to stay, and that could really appeal to the midfielder, who has won yet another Premier League title with the Citizens.
