Kano Governor Appoints Chief Press Secretary, Ex-Tetfund Boss As SSG, Others

The new Governor of Kano state Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed former executive secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi as new secretary to the state government. Until his new appointment, Dr. Bichi served as NNPP governorship chief returning officer during the last election and the chairman of transition committee of the incoming government. Similarly, the new Governor appointed Shehu Wada Sagagi, former Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as Chief of Staff while Dr. Farouq Kurawa become the new principal Private Secretary to the Governor. Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo is now Chief Protocol as Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, become chief press secretary to Governor Yusuf. Meanwhile, Governor Yusuf has announced immediate dissolution of the board members of the state pilgrims welfare board few days to inuagural flight of Kano state intending pilgrims, Subsequently, the new government announced the constitution of new board with Alh. Lamin Rabiu, a former executive secretary of the board returned as head. Rabiu takes over immediately from Ambassador Abba Mohamamd Danbatta who was appointed by the former Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in 2018. The new board also have Alhaji Yusuf Lawan as Chairman. Other member of the new board are Shiek Abbas Abubakar Daneji, Shiek Shehi Shehi Maihula, Amb. Munir Lawan, Shiek Isma’il Mangu, Hajia Aishatu Munir Matawalle and Dr. Sani Ashir. The new appointment contained in statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa early Tuesday said the new board is expected to takeover the affairs of the board immediately to ensure successful 2023 Hajj operation.
