Long queues resurface in filling stations as Tinubu announces subsidy removal

Barely 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu announced plans to remove subsidy on fuel by June ending, Nigerians have started panicking as Petrol stations claim to not have fuel.

The announcement caused motorists to rush to fill up at gas stations in Abuja and neighboring states out of fear that the price of PMS would increase above N500/litre once the subsidy ended.

Also, Fuel stations have begun to hoard fuel in order to sell at higher prices to make profit.

A resident around Abuja-Keffi road, identified as Paul Oko said that all the fuel stations in that environment no longer has fuel.

He added that he moved from Mararaba to very close to Keffi in Nasarawa state, before he could get fuel in one local fuel station of which they sold 700 per litter.

Nigerians are aware that owners of fuel stations would like to take advantage of the situation to exploit and make ordinary citizens of the country suffer.

A resident of Zuba in Abuja, identified as Taiwo also said that many outlets were shut in his area as the few ones, like Mobil at Madalla, that dispensed petrol, had long queues formed by motorists.
