Next James Bond Update: Three-Horse Race for the New 007 – Tom Hardy is Nowhere to Be Seen | Movies | entertainment

Daniel Craig is finally leaving the role of James Bond after five films over the course of 15 years. But who will succeed him?

Chances are Bond bosses Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson won’t give an official update for another year or so, so until then, Bond’s prospects are the best way to gauge where fan-favorite spectators sit.

A fresh update on Bond’s chances over the weekend has left some of the UK’s favorite actors in the dust as three huge names are in the running – and that means one of the biggest names in the race, Tom Hardy, has lost his edge in the race.

Sitting third in the Bond odds is Henry Cavill from Ladbrokes, who took an astonishing 3/1 as he became the new and improved James Bond.

The British hunk previously auditioned to play Bond back in 2005, but lost out to Craig – so this could be his redemption arc.

Although he previously brushed off rumors about him being the next champion, so maybe he simply doesn’t want it?

Slightly ahead of him, meanwhile, is James Norton, who has recently experienced an explosion of fame thanks to his role in the BBC show Happy Valley.

Norton has an unusual 5/2 in the race to become the new 007, which puts him second in Ladbrokes’ overall odds.

However, neither Cavill nor Norton can bring down the group leader at the moment.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is currently the leading Bond odds with an impressive 15/8, making him the heavy favorite in this three-horse race to become the next James Bond.

Taylor-Johnson is of course best known for appearing in the Marvel series as the former Avenger Quicksilver. However, he has also starred as a superhero in the Kick-Ass movies, and the recently released Bullet Train movie.

Furthermore, recent rumors have suggested that Taylor-Johnson has had some screen tests behind the scenes, so his journey in the 007 suit may be shorter than fans expect.
