Pundit John Giles raves about Tottenham manager target De Zerbi

The Italian tactician has done a magnificent job at Brighton, coming in to replace Graham Potter mid-season and having led them to a place in Europa League, if the table stays the same until the end of the season.

Whilst the Seagulls are sitting in sixth place, which is mightily impressive on its own, the football they play is even more commendable.

As Roberto De Zerbi witnessed his Brighton side maul Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium, the Tottenham manager target was praised by pundit John Giles.

“Roberto De Zerbi, how he has them playing. I’m not a fan of playing out of the back, but the way they play it takes a lot of courage. Obviously, the manager wants them to do that, but it’s really brilliant stuff, there’s no doubt about that.”

I know Arsenal would have been tired, but these guys took advantage of it, I thought it was absolutely brilliant”, Giles said on The Stand with Eamon Murphy.

HITC View: De Zerbi would be the ideal coach for Spurs

While it seems improbable that Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi would join Tottenham or any other club, pundit John Giles has fairly sang his praises.

De Zerbi is a master tactician and at a club that has lacked a footballing identity since the Pochettino era, he would elevate the side on the pitch.

In addition, the Italian could even do so instantly, as he did at Brighton, provided the technical level within the squad is raised a touch more in the transfer market.

As long as the board back De Zerbi, he is especially likely to fare well at a club like Spurs, who are just below the superclubs of this world at this stage of his career.
