Ralph Jarl walks for brain injury awareness weeks after he was shot in the head for ringing a doorbell wrongly

Ralph Jarl, a black teen who was shot in the head after accidentally ringing the wrong doorbell, joined a rally in Kansas City, Missouri, for brain injury awareness on Monday, local media reported.

Jarl, 17, suffered a serious injury He was shot in the head his mother, Cleo Nagby, said in April while trying to pick up his younger siblings. The teen walked a few miles each day as part of his recovery, a CBS affiliate KCTV mentioned.

His mother joined him at the Brain Injury Association of Kansas and the Greater Kansas City Walk. Members of “Team Ralph” were decked out in bright green to honor the teen, according to KCTV.

“It’s such a joy to see this kind of support, and I pray that the support isn’t just for Ralph. I pray that support goes a long way for everyone in this situation — that’s my prayer,” Nagbe told KCTV.

After her son was shot, Nagbe told “CBS Mornings,” One doctor said the CT scan showed “just tiny fragments of the bullet in his brain”.
