Daichi Kamada did have interest from Liverpool but has chosen a dream move to boyhood club AC Milan.
Liverpool were keen on signing Daichi Kamada but the Eintracht Frankfurt playmaker is heading for Italy instead.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that Kamada attracted interest from Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Benfica.
Kamada has been a very appealing option for many clubs given that he can now leave Frankfurt on a free transfer at the end of his contract.
Despite the prospect of a move to Anfield, Kamada has instead chosen to strike a ‘verbal agreement’ with Milan.
The report claims that Kamada actually grew up supporting Milan having witnessed their Champions League success.
The 26-year-old would have been six and then 10 years of age when Milan won the Champions League in 2003 and 2007.
Add in that one of the biggest stars in the history of Japanese football – Hidetoshi Nakata – became a star in Italy and you can see why Kamada has become attracted to Serie A.
Kamada will pen a four-year deal with Milan and he will immediately become one of the top earners at the San Siro.

The Reds need more than just one addition though and a free agent signing would have been ideal.
Kamada has proven himself as a creative attacking midfield and he has racked up 16 goals as well as seven assists this season.
That kind of impact player would have been welcome at Anfield but despite Liverpool’s major pull, it hasn’t been enough to sway Kamada away from his boyhood club.
