Leeds United could make a move for Steven Gerrard if they decide to move on from Sam Allardyce this summer.
Steven Gerrard is a name on the radar of the 49ers Enterprises as they attempt to finalise their Leeds United takeover.
That is according to The Sun, who claim that 49ers Enterprises had an agreed price of £420million to purchase Leeds.
Yet with Leeds now suffering relegation, their valuation has plummeted to just £170million and talks over the deal are ongoing.
If the takeover does materialise, one of the first jobs for 49ers Enterprises would be to figure out the club’s managerial situation.
Sam Allardyce has been in charge for the last four games and is in with a shout of keeping the job moving forward.
Others are in the frame though with Gerrard described as a ‘possibility’ for Leeds’ potential American owners.
Gerrard certainly has huge name value, which may well appeal to the 49ers.
This comes after The Mirror reported in February that Gerrard was a candidate to replace Jesse Marsch in the Elland Road dugout.
Add in that Gerrard’s usual assistant Gary McAllister is a former Leeds man and this could be a good fit for the Whites.

Gerrard obviously has an enormous reputation in football but he finds himself in a tricky spot as a manager.
The former Liverpool hero won the Scottish Premiership title with Rangers, finally breaking Celtic’s dominance.
That ended up resulting in a move to Aston Villa, which was seen as a stepping stone to the Liverpool job.
Gerrard’s move to Villa Park didn’t work out though and he was sacked after less than a year in charge.
The way Unai Emery has completely rejuvenated and improved Villa in a short space of time hasn’t done Gerrard any favours either.
Gerrard isn’t a complete busted flush but he really needs to be a success in his next job to get back on track.
Gerrard hasn’t jumped back into management and may feel that the chance to rebuild this relegated Leeds side is the job for him.
