Elvis Presley asked Linda Thompson for Priscilla Presley’s Honest Service | music | entertainment

Elvis Presley separated from his wife, Priscilla Presley, in 1972, before finalizing their divorce in 1973.

Shortly after their separation, the King of Rock and Roll met Linda Thompson, the woman with whom he would spend the next four years.

The pair quickly fell in love, and Elvis lived to please her. He bought her things, took her to glitzy events, and paraded the young beauty queen in front of the paparazzi.

However, when it came time to meet Linda with Priscilla, Elvis got really nervous.

The feeling was mutual for Linda, too. She had already spent a lot of time with Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, but was particularly anxious about meeting Elvis’ ex-wife in an official setting.

Just before Elvis and Linda meet Priscilla, the King asks Linda for one last favor.

He said, “Honey.” “Do me a favor. You will probably meet Priscilla. Don’t wear all the rings and other jewelry I gave you.”

Elvis’ request wasn’t because he was hiding anything from Priscilla, though he made it clear that he didn’t want to make her feel self-conscious about her relationship with him.

“I never gave Priscilla that much jewelry,” said Elvis. “I gave her stuff, sure, but it’s not like I showered you with gifts.”

“I don’t want to make her feel bad,” he added.

Linda did as she was told and took off her various rings, bracelets, bangles and necklaces before meeting Priscilla.

Linda recalled when she first met Priscilla that she was very “friendly” and polite.

However, what sticks out is that Priscilla thanked Linda for being nice to her daughter, Lisa Marie.

Linda and Lisa Marie continued to have a great relationship, even after her split from Elvis in 1976.
