Premier League newcomers Burnley have been handed a boost in their pursuit of a new striker with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Juventus will not sign Marseille loanee Arkadiusz Milik on a permanent basis.
With Ashley Barnes gone and Nathan Tella returning to Southampton, Vincent Kompany has lost both his number one centre-forward and his top scorer since guiding Burnley back to the big time.
So, as you might expect, attacking reinforcements are high on the Belgian’s to-do list as he looks to ensure Burnley not only survive but thrive during their first ever Premier League campaign without Sean Dyche at the helm.
Genk wonderkid Gift Orban has been linked. Ditto Almeria’s El Bilal Toure, and Metz’ Georges Mikautadze.
Arkadiusz Milik, however, is comfortably the most high-profile striker reportedly under consideration at Turf Moor. The Poland international would arrive after spells at Juventus, Marseille, Ajax, Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen, breaking the 20-goal barrier as recently as 2021/22 at the Stade Velodrome.
Fabrizio Romano backs up claims from Corriere dello Sport, reporting that Milik could be available for a cut-price fee of just £6 million.
He appears to have no future at parent club Marseille. Milik will not stay at Juventus either after scoring nine goals in 39 games on loan in Turin last term.

“Juventus have decided against triggering the 7 million euro buy option for Arek Milik,” Romano writes on Twitter. “(I am) told Marseille are not planning to reduce the asking price. No discounts.
“L’OM are prepared to sell Milik, but not for less than 7 million euros. A Juventus return for Arek looks now off.”
A £6 million fee means Milik will come far cheaper than Orban, Toure and Mikautadze.
The latter was recently named Ligue 2’s Player of the Year as well as it’s top scorer; outstanding with promotion-winners FC Metz. Both Burnley and Wolves are reportedly ready to meet Mikautadze’s £17 million asking-price, with Arsenal’s name also in the frame.
