‘Incredible’: Andros Townsend raves about £100,000-a-week player Tottenham reportedly want

Andros Townsend has raved about Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford amid claims that Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur want to sign him.
According to The Daily Star, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Jordan Pickford from Premier League rivals Everton in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that the Red Devils will offer Pickford £200,000 per week as salary.
The England international goalkeeper earns £100,000 per week as salary at the Toffees at the moment, according to the report.
Former Tottenham winger Townsend played with Pickford at Everton, and he has said that the 29-year-old is incredible.
Townsend said about Pickford on talkSPORT (7:14am, June 19, 2023): “Honestly, I have been there for two years, and he has been incredible for the full two years. Yes, he has made mistakes, but so has every keeper.”
The winger added: “If they need to sell before they can buy, maybe they are looking at £45 million for a goalkeeper. It’s good business.”
Should Tottenham Hotspur bid for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford?
In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur should seriously consider making a move for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in the summer transfer window.
Hugo Lloris is not getting any younger and has made costly mistakes in recent seasons.
Pickford is at the top of his game at the moment and is also the England number one goalkeeper.
True, the goalkeeper signed a new contract recently, but there is speculation that Everton could sell him this summer.
If Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is keen on bringing Pickford to Old Trafford, then it shows just how good he is, and we believe that Tottenham should at least try to sign him.
