“We share the terrible news of The Iron Sheik’s passing, but we can take comfort in the fact that he passed away gently and left behind a legacy that will live on for future generations.

His obituary details are yet to be revealed. His funeral will be done in the presence of his close family members and friends.

The cause of the Wrestler’s death is heart failure. While he’s best known for his ring name, the wrestling legend was born Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri.

An Iran native, he got into amateur wrestling as a young man and even competed in the Summer Olympics in 1968.
