Simon Jordan has claimed that Daniel Levy ‘refutes’ Tim Sherwood’s suggestion that Tottenham Hotspur were willing to sell Harry Kane for ‘£600k’ before his rise to stardom.
The former Crystal Palace owner, who is friends with the Tottenham chairman, recently sat down with Tim Sherwood for his Up Front with Simon Jordan YouTube channel, where talk of Harry Kane came about.
But Sherwood’s comments seem to have landed him in hot water, with Jordan now telling talkSPORT that ‘legally they have had a word with Tim about it’.
When Kane was coming through Spurs’ ranks, it was Sherwood who was a coach at the academy, so he would have seen first-hand what he was all about.
At that time, big-money signings Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado were playing ahead of the Englishman, before it was Sherwood, who was briefly the club’s manager, who handed him his first-team debut.
The rest is history. But, it seems as though, a number of things Sherwood said during his recent interview with Simon Jordan haven’t gone down well at Hotspur Way, as he explained.
“Do I think Tim Sherwood was being disingenuous,” Repeated Jordan regarding an interview he did with the former Tottenham boss?
“I think he was being misrepresentative. I think he was shrouding the observations that he made, in a characterisation that suited him. But disingenuity? I don’t know.
“He made observations about his contract status, which with Tottenham, we have very different information on, in terms of the interview. Seemingly, Tottenham think he had a contractual status that was akin to what I was saying (an 18-month deal, not 12).
“The argument about Harry Kane and the transfer fee, it’s a matter of fact. Tottenham didn’t get offered £150 million (from Manchester City), so there is no point in Tim spousing that nonsense.
“The observations about Harry Kane being prepared to be sold to somewhere else for £600k, well, Daniel Levy refutes that. I think legally they have had a word with Tim about it. There was an element of, like a lot of times in football, people saying things that they think they can get away with, and then subsequently, finding out that they possibly can’t.”

The England captain will get ‘no trophies’ thrown at him, until the day he wins one, and in truth, even then, they will say ‘it’s only one trophy’.
Either way, Kane’s legacy has been written and whatever he does, he will go down as one of the Premier League’s best.
