Ange Postecoglou has left Celtic for Tottenham Hotspur and the Bhoys fear a triple transfer raid from their former boss.
Celtic are worried Ange Postecoglou may try to lure Kyogo Furuhashi, Jota and Reo Hatate to Tottenham Hotspur.
That is according to 90Min, who claim that Celtic fear another Tottenham raid – this time for key players.
Tottenham confirmed the appointment of Postecoglou as their new manager on Tuesday morning.
That’s a tough one for Celtic fans to swallow, especially just does after winning the treble.
Those Celtic fans would hate to see players leave too but the Bhoys seemingly fear that Postecoglou will want big reunions at Tottenham.
It’s stated that Celtic mostly have concerns about the futures of Kyogo, Jota and Hatate – three players who were simply exceptional under Postecoglou.
All three players appear to be very happy at Celtic right now and will be delighted to have won the treble.
Yet it can be hard for Celtic players to turn down Premier League opportunities and if Tottenham come calling, the chance to join Postecoglou may appeal.
Would Tottenham go for Kyogo, Jota and Hatate under Ange Postecoglou?
Tottenham need major reinforcements this summer and will be looking to strengthen in a number of areas.
Let’s start with Kyogo.
The Japanese striker has been the shining light of Postecoglou’s Celtic recruitment having arrived from Vissel Kobe.
54 goals in 83 games is a sensational record and Tottenham may need another striker.
It was hard enough for Richarlison to get games though given Harry Kane’s importance and with Kyogo 29 in January, Spurs may prefer to spend on younger players.
Jota is another attacking talent, providing superb flair and creativity in the final third.
The Portuguese talent has bagged 28 goals and 26 assists for Celtic and he may fit the bill for Tottenham.
Spurs need a winger who can play on either flank; Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski are somewhat married to the left and right wings respectively.
Jota has the ability to play on either side and at 24, is the kind of profile we expect Tottenham to target.
Hatate is of a similar age at 25 and has been a perfect fit for Postecoglou’s Celtic side.
We have doubts over the suitability of Tottenham’s midfielders in terms of how they fit into Postecoglou’s approach.
Maybe Yves Bissouma or a returning Rodrigo Bentancur can play the Hatate role but we can see Postecoglou wanting his composure in a new-look Spurs midfield.
Postecoglou surely won’t want to absolutely pillage Celtic, but we could see Jota and Hatate becoming prime targets for Tottenham this summer.
