Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea have been linked with Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte.
According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti on Twitter, Chelsea want to sign Aymeric Laporte from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
Bayern Munich are also keen on securing the services of the £130,000-a-week (SalarySport) Spain international central defender, according to the reporter.
Could Chelsea sign Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte?
In our view, Chelsea could be able to sign Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
There are reports that Premier League champions City are willing to sell Laporte.
The 29-year-old defender himself wants to leave the treble-winners for more playing time.
After all, Laporte has become a squad player at City now.
The defender made 11 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League and made three starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the Citizens last season.
If Chelsea are willing to make a good offer for Laporte, then they could be able to convince City to sell them the defender.
However, with no European football next season, Chelsea would have to work extremely hard to convince Laporte himself to make the switch to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window, especially with Bayern Munich also keen on him.
