Report: Newcastle eyeing swoop for rapid £30m PL star, Bruce wanted him for £2m three years ago
Newcastle United are back in the hunt for Fulham left back Antonee Robinson as a potential alternative target to Kieran Tierney.
Antonee Robinson is back on Newcastle United’s transfer wish list as they consider signing the Fulham left back this summer.
That is according to a report from The Chronicle, who claim that Newcastle are looking at a move for Robinson.
It’s stated that Robinson could be available for less than £30million this summer due to concerns about his contract.
Robinson has just 12 months left to run on his Fulham deal and the Cottagers could choose to cash in before he walks away.
Newcastle are thought to have wanted Robinson in January and are now viewing him as a summer target too.
Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has been the strongest link in terms of Newcastle signing a left back, but the Gunners are ‘driving a hard bargain’.
That means Newcastle could look elsewhere and Robinson is emerging as a legitimate alternative for the Magpies.

We all know what Kieran Trippier provides at right back with his delivery into the box, but Newcastle have taken a different approach on the left.
Dan Burn – often used as a centre back in years gone by – has been Newcastle’s left back with Matt Targett suffering injury woes.
Robinson would be a real change for Newcastle, offering outstanding speed up the left flank as well as real attacking ability.
The United States international was outstanding at the World Cup and Newcastle are far from alone in fancying him.
The Sun claimed in February that Manchester City were plotting a summer move to lure Robinson to the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola has since changed to a 3-2-4-1 system but City may still have one eye on Robinson as a left back option.
Newcastle fans may also remember Robinson as a target from the Steve Bruce days.
The Northern Echo reported in August 2020 that Bruce had identified Robinson as a bargain addition from his former club Wigan Athletic.
The Latics were struggling financially and Robinson ended up moving to Fulham for just £2million instead of joining Newcastle.
Fast forward three years and Newcastle face paying £30million for Robinson, but his development in the Premier League suggests he may just be worth it.
