Report: West Ham are now bidding for ‘unbelievable’ Tottenham target after European success

West Ham United are ready to make their move for Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes after winning the Europa Conference League.

Harvey Barnes looks set to become West Ham United’s first target after beating Fiorentina 2-1.

That is according to The Telegraph, who claim that West Ham are now leading the race to sign Barnes.

It’s stated that Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United all want to sign Barnes but it’s West Ham at the front of the queue.

West Ham have allegedly been the ‘most serious’ club in the race so far and are now set to begin negotiations in the coming days.

The Hammers won the Europa Conference League on Thursday night, beating Fiorentina 2-1 in Prague.

David Moyes’ men now seem ready to splash the cash on new signings – especially with Declan Rice expected to go.

Barnes now appears to be target number one in what could be a huge coup for West Ham this summer.

Harvey Barnes would be a major addition for West Ham

West Ham will be very appealing after this European success.

The Hammers now think they have a legitimate chance of landing Barnes ahead of numerous Premier League clubs – all of whom finished above Moyes’ side.

West Ham are allegedly willing to pay £30million for Barnes, a little short of the £40million Leicester want.

The Foxes may have gone down but Barnes was one of the very few shining lights for Leicester this season.

The 25-year-old up 13 goals in 34 Premier League games for Leicester, including a goal against West Ham on the final day of the season.

Hailed as an ‘unbelievable player’ by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, Barnes would be an upgrade on Said Benrahma down West Ham’s left flank.

Imagine Barnes on the left and Jarrod Bowen on the right? Few full backs would like to face West Ham.

This won’t be easy to pull off but what a coup West Ham could land if they can snap up Barnes.
