West Ham United are chasing Alex Scott and have now held talks with the representatives of the Bristol City talent.
Alex Scott is becoming a prime West Ham United target this summer and exploratory talks have already taken place.
That is according to the London Evening Standard, who claim that West Ham have held ‘initial talks’ with Scott’s representatives.
West Ham are figuring out whether they can put together a deal for the midfielder, who is thought to be valued at around £25million.
The Hammers are deciding whether to make their move for Scott, who has been called an ‘unbelievable talent’ by Pep Guardiola.
Declan Rice’s future will have an effect here.
West Ham are looking at a host of midfielders in the knowledge that Rice is probably on his way for a huge price this summer.
West Ham may need to bring in two players; a defensive midfielder to replicate Rice’s ability to break up play and a ball carrier who can impact the game going forward.
Scott would certainly fit the bill for the latter role and West Ham may see him as a superstar of the future.
David Moyes loves a Championship signing amid Alex Scott interest
Interest in Scott certainly make sense when you look at David Moyes’ history win the transfer market.
Moyes loves to shop in the Championship and the deal to sign Jarrod Bowen has been a huge success for West Ham.
Craig Dawson and Said Benrahma were also picked up from Championship clubs at the time of their arrivals.
Even going back to Everton, you can see Moyes’ desire to shop in the Championship with Tim Cahill and Joleon Lescott springing to mind.
Scott fits a similar mould and appears to have enormous potential at just 19.
A number of Premier League clubs also want Scott, but with money from the likely sale of Rice and Moys’ reputation, West Ham have a real chance of a deal.
